Crackhead
Rehab was supposed to be the easy option
Frankie has burned through her money, her relationships, and, most recently, her sister's house. Faced with jail or rehab, she chooses the ‘luxury’ clinic her sister agrees to pay for, only to find a run-down lock-up filled with unpredictable patients and overstretched staff.
Outside, Frankie has a family she has hurt and secrets she would rather keep buried. Inside her fellow patients are fighting battles of their own, the staff have struggles too, and even the institution meant to make them better may not always know what ‘better’ looks like.
With four weeks standing between Frankie and freedom, getting clean is only the beginning. Group therapy, withdrawal, and her own spectacularly bad decisions bring intense friendships, volatile rivalries and messy relationships. As old resentments and secrets surface, Frankie must confront what brought her here, and whether she can change before she destroys what little she has left.
Dark, messy, and sharply funny, Crackhead follows Frankie to rock bottom, and leaves her facing the one person she has spent her whole life trying to escape: herself.
